0800 Repair Gas is eyeing up a national expansion following a move to new premises in Houghton le Spring

The home services firm, which forms part of Pacifica Group, welcomed Bridget Phillipson, Member of Parliament for Houghton and Sunderland South, to mark the official opening of Pacifica Group’s head office.

Established in 2010, 0800 Repair Gas has grown to become a leading provider of heating, plumbing and insulation services in the North East.

Following the launch of its new insulation division at the start of 2017, 0800 Repair Gas is also planning to extend its services beyond the North East on a national scale.

A product that has been approved by WRAS confirms that it complies with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and the Scottish Byelaws. The regulations mean that the water fitting will not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contaminate the water supply, and must be ‘of an appropriate quality and standard’.

Flame currently operates throughout the North East of England from seven branches, but is now looking to launch branches north of the border in Scotland’s major towns and cities, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Perth and Dundee.

 

The company appointed Danny Byrne at the start of the year to oversee the expansion and Flame is actively working to acquire a number of sites and develop its brand across Scotland, with the potential to create up to 25 jobs.

Lanes Group invest in 3D immersive training for drainage engineers

Thames Water and drainage specialists, Lanes Group have recently invested in a new and innovative training facility. The 360-degree igloo projection theatre will allow teams of trainee drainage engineers to instantly see, hear, and experience what it is like to be inside a sewer, without getting their feet wet. 

Based at Lanes’ Customer Solutions Centre in Slough, trainees will be immersed in a range of scenarios, including potentially hazardous situations, which will help to develop skills and prepare the team for real-life work in the sewers. 

As part of Lanes Group, Lanes Utilities will use the sophisticated facility to train teams working on its contract wastewater network maintenance contract with Thames Water.
